The Institute for Development, Energy, and Environment (IDEA)<\/b>, was founded in 2024 as an independent, non-partisan, and non-profit think tank and action center that promotes viable solutions based on the best available science to achieve a just energy transition and promote sustainable prosperity that integrates the well-being of people, communities, and ecosystems.<\/span><\/h5>
IDEA was born from the Energy team of the Mexican Climate Initiative (ICM), which for more than 10 years has been channeling international funds, providing technical assistance, developing public policy recommendations, and fostering participation from various stakeholders to decarbonize Mexico's energy sector. IDEA represents the evolution of this path to expand our impact as a think tank and action center with a regional and long-term vision.<\/span><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

              The energy transition challenge is not unique to Mexico. Across Latin America, dependence on fossil fuels, the need to strengthen renewable infrastructure, and the pursuit of sustainable development models are common issues. By working at the regional level, IDEA helps identify shared solutions, strengthen cooperation among countries, and demonstrate that a zero-emissions energy future is possible through effective public policy, adequate financing, and the adoption of clean technologies.
